Limited Edition Peanut Butter Cheerios

Last week I had discovered that Cheerios was releasing a limited edition peanut butter flavour due out March 4. Now, I place myself at a Jerry Seinfeld-level of cereal enjoyment so you can understand that I was quite happy to find them out on the shelves earlier than anticipated.

I won’t go into great detail on this one as I’m sure a lot of you know what Cheerios and their various flavour offerings are like. Opening up the box, there is a strong peanut butter scent. They are similar to Multigrain Cheerios with the O’s being in a few different shades to make them look a little more dimensional in your bowl.

The peanut butter flavour is nice but could have been a touch stronger as it gets diluted a bit in the milk. These Cheerios have an appropriate amount of sweetness so they’re a nice alternative if you like peanut butter flavoured cereal but don’t want all the sugar that comes along with something like Reese Puffs. I’d be interested in mixing these with another Cheerios flavour like Chocolate or Banana and seeing how that turns out.

Overall, a fun idea for a new Cheerios flavour. Now they just need to give us some of the crazier flavours like Dulce de Leche or even bring back Frosted Cheerios!

Bought At: Real Canadian Superstore

Price: $3.99, 360g box

Have you spotted these Peanut Butter Cheerios on the shelves yet? Let me know on Facebook or Twitter

  1. Those sound great, you're right, they'd probably be even better mixed with the chocolate or banana (!) version. Wish we had banana and peanut butter varieties here in the UK, but we do get chocolate, and I suppose I should be happy with that. :P

  4. I love the PB Cheerios, and thankfully they are not limited edition here in the US. Also, I have tried mixing the PB with both chocolate and the banana before, but I found it just mutes the flavors of both and isn't really very good.
