I’m just going to throw this out there before I get started
with this review: I love President’s Choice. For those not in Canada, President’s
Choice is a brand owned by the grocery store company Loblaws. Typically when a grocery-store
brand makes their version of a popular brand-name product it ends up being
not-as-good (hence the cheaper price). Not only does President’s Choice make
great quality versions of popular products that are already out, they create
their own new products which are just as awesome. I’m always excited to see new
products by President’s Choice hit the shelves and this weekend discovered some
new items in their line of “World of Flavours” chips including Maple Bacon
flavour which I had to try.
Upon opening the bag, I’m hit with that tempting bacon
smell. These are a thicker cut crinkled chip, just like the other “World of
Flavours” I’ve tried. Biting into it I found I tasted the salty bacon right
away which blended into the sweet maple flavour and then into a crispy bacon-y
finish as if I were eating a real piece of bacon. You’ve done it again,
President’s Choice! These chips are a perfect balance of sweet and salty with
great authentic bacon and maple flavour.
The other new flavours I spotted were: Moroccan Spice, Jamaican Jerk Chicken and
Canadian Burger (which I’m definitely up for next). To give you an idea of
other neat flavours that have been out (some are still available): Tandoori
Barbeque, Ballpark Hotdog, Greek Olive Feta and Oregano, and Szechwan.
I’m very excited for the Holiday Insider’s Report to come
out, so expect to hear more about new P.C. products in the coming weeks!
